Two head constables of Punjab Police have been captured after a detainee got away from their care on Saturday.
As per police, the body of evidence was enlisted against them on the protest of Mangal Singh, collaborator sub-investigator (ASI) of Punjab Police, Police Lines, Amritsar.
The complainant expressed to the Chandigarh Police that a detainee, Malkit Singh of Central Jail, Amritsar, who was under treatment at the PGI, Chandigarh, got away from the authority of head constables Balraj Singh and Dilbag Singh on Saturday.
Police sources said that the charged detainee was reserved in 14 criminal cases and was held up in the Central Jail of Amritsar.
The charged was conveyed to the PGI for treatment on August 3 after different detainees in the prison assaulted him and hit him on his head.
In any case, the detainee figured out how to give a slip to the two cops on Saturday and got away from their guardianship.
The head constables have been captured under Sections 223 (break from control or authority carelessly endured by open hireling) and 224 (resistance or impediment by a man to his legal worry) of the Indian Penal Code at Police Station, Sector 11, Chandigarh. Both the HCs were later allowed safeguard. Further examination is in advancement, said a police official.
