This week three movies are being released at the box office “Parched”, “Banjo” and “Days Of A free”. Parched and Banjo are movies of established actors Riteish Deshmukh and Radhika Apte but Days Of Tafree is a new cast movie.The movie “Banjo” has been directed by Marathi filmmaker making his debut with Banjo, Ravi Jadhav. The subject of the movie is novel. Nargis Fakhri will be playing herself.At the box-office, the movie has managed to grab an average of five screenings per multiplex, which should give it a great head start. At last , it will depend on the content and word of mouth publicity.
The movie “Parched” got attention when a sex scene of the movie was leaked earlier. But, Parched got critics attention while screening at various festivals. The movie has a certificate which is a minus point. But the movie is women – centric and the performance of the actors are very powerful.
This movie is a remake of Gujarati film, Chhello Divas (last day), the story of which revolves around the friendship of college going youth. But the directors of the movie is same, this is a relief as when a movie remake is made it can lose its originality. The star cast is relatively new and that is the only sliding point. But if the movie content and the acting of actors are good it can become a hit too.
